Soul Beats: thursday 19 october
If it's hiphop, funk, soul and crossover-styles you're looking for, you're best bet on the opening night of Amsterdam Dance Event is Soul Beats. This party in the freshly opened Pakhuis De Zwijger (just like Pakhuis Wilhelmina a former warehouse) brings you the big guns when it comes to the funky vibe. Holland's finest hiphopsoulbands Illicit, Coalition of the Wicked and Jagged Soul are playing, dj's Boca45, Dr Rubberfunk, Ursula 1000 and Malente are spinning. And (heavy drumroll) none other than the brilliant Thunderball and Fort Knox Five are doing a back-2-back set!! The latter duo will rock the Bossa Boogie-hosted stage (Rubberfunk will be there as well), and ofcourse your beloved Bossa Boogie-residents Dewey & Aguuzto bring their records too. Bossa Boogie @ One Night Samba
Supernatural goes latin once again!! Saturday october 28th they'll set the Winkel van Sinkel in Utrecht on fire, with the superhot sounds of DJ Cliffy and resident Svendex. In the basement, bossa bwoys Dewey Sakitumi & TimTim will try their best to steal some of the crowd from the main room, with a mix of scorching latin flavoured broken beats and the tried and tested reggae, soul and funks sounds of the BB parties.
